To be fair, this follow-up idea was announced last year when the current film was meant to still release in October, so plans may have changed. Thus, Snake Eyes could be seen as The Hobbit, while the main G.I. The idea for this movie is for it to build on the concepts introduced in Snake Eyes but not be an actual sequel.
Last year, Snake Eyes' producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura stated that a follow-up is planned for the current movie, and that said film would be written by Seberg screenwriters Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse. Of course, plans change, as shown by the dissolution of the Hasbro Cinematic Universe. Some of these tentatively upcoming works were announced years ago, while others were ordered this year. Whether or not it will succeed at this task remains to be seen, but there are potentially several other G.I. Focusing on the stealthy, silent ninja of the group, the movie hopes to bring back the '80s juggernaut in a big way. The newly released Snake Eyes movie once again tries to revive the A Real American Hero incarnation of the once immense G.I.
